正文:Ultraviolet (UV) flame detectors are used to remotely detect flames from the combustion of hydrocarbons and metals, either as a safety and warning device or as a sensor to detect the ignition of industrial pilot lights. They find widespread use in stationary applications such as airplane hangars, petroleum refineries, chemical plants and warehouses. They are also used by emergency services as portable sensors to safely detect fires that are invisible to human eyes, such as alcohol or hydrogen fueled fires. However, UV flame detectors require a high voltage power source that can be difficult to design in a battery powered, hand-held device.
